Herringbone Tile & Brick

Herringbone tile is a well-liked flooring option that gives any space a unique and elegant feel. This tile is often ceramic or porcelain, cut into rectangular pieces, and placed in a zigzag manner to produce the traditional herringbone pattern. Another option is using brick in a herringbone pattern, which is a unique and stunning option for any space.

Herringbone tile comes in various hues and finishes, allowing you to select a design that most closely matches your unique taste. In addition, a herringbone tile is a sensible option for high-traffic areas like kitchens and bathrooms because it is also highly resilient and simple to maintain.

Seamless Integration with Other Flooring

Herringbone flooring may easily blend in with the rest of your flooring, which is one of its best features. In addition, this flooring can make the transition between different flooring materials in your home, whether between hardwood, tile, or carpet. This is because you install the pattern at a 45-degree angle, giving the room a sense of continuity and flow.

We chose herringbone flooring in our kitchen to seamlessly blend in with the hardwood in the rest of our home. The change in the pattern of the original flooring and the herringbone flooring creates a visual difference. This makes the transition look intentional and works well when replacing flooring in one room while leaving the remaining flooring original.

Herringbone Flooring in Our Kitchen

When designing our kitchen, I wanted to ensure that the colour of the flooring had a good flow from the hardwood in the rest of our home. The original kitchen flooring was slate tile, and this was very cold in winter and hard to maintain (slate shows dirt). The kitchen walks out to the backyard, so it was important to pick something hard-wearing. We chose engineered hardwood, specifically TwelveOaks Wishbone White Oak in colour Lucid Dreams. This is a herringbone flooring pattern in engineered hardwood, made to look like white oak.

It is a fantastic option for any homeowner wishing to improve the aesthetic appeal of their home due to its versatility and easy integration with other floors.
