I still can’t believe how much this kitchen has I still can’t believe how much this kitchen has transformed. When we moved into our century home, the kitchen wasn’t quite our style. Freezing slate floors, an awkwardly angled peninsula, and cold air leaking in during the winter made it far from functional. In the spring, I decided to renovate. I spent hours designing the layout using AutoCAD, SketchUp, and the IKEA kitchen planner. To get a high-end look on a budget, I ordered IKEA cabinets and had custom doors made in a beautiful shade (I agonized over picking the right colour). We mixed splurge-worthy elements like the cabinet hardware with more budget-friendly finds like the IKEA cabinets. From new floors to a cozy breakfast nook, every detail was carefully thought out, and now it’s a space that feels both functional and timeless. Want to see more of the process? Back in the summer when I was pregnant, we got a @thelitterrobot for home, and let me tell you—it was a game-changer. Between automatic waste removal, no scooping, and keeping odors under control, it made life so much easier. Plus, our cats absolutely love it because their litter is always fresh and clean. And we love that it actually uses less litter than a regular box—talk about a win-win!
